Nice ! very similar spec to mine, but we are at 12.5:1 and a T/R. We have maybe a little more hp but not much.

My experience with the dynoo at Westech is that is VERY VERY happy...While it should make a nice combo dont expect 900HP

Those dyno headers are not very big. The biggest Mopar header that Schoenfeld makes is 1 7/8 stepped to 2 inches. Looks to me like that is what they used for this test. If that is the case then they were down 20 or 30 hp from what it could've made with a bigger header.

Typical ragazine dyno test. Used to be 600 horsepower, then 700, then 800, and now 900 lmao 😂

Ya, gotta agree. The specs of the parts don't match the hp numbers posted, so i am skeptical. I would say 850 would be a good number for what little info provided. The track will tell the tail. Allthough i expect it will perform well with that power curve.

It has good compression and a really big cam. The Victor heads are an odd choice for a 900 hp engine. They aren't super popular and not many people know how to make them work. I might believe the number depending on who did the head work. The article doesn't talk about head work and there is no way OOTB Victor heads are going to make that much power. The SV intake is a good piece, especially when ported. I've never tested on the Westech dyno. I tried to run a test there using my 514 dyno mule, but it didn't work out.

We did a similiar 572 wedge a couple of years back. It had Indy EZ heads on it and was built with really good parts. Cam was a little smaller, had T&D rocker arms, a Wilson ported Super Victor with EFI. It made 860 hp. Probably would've made another 100 hp with a set of good 572-13 heads but the customer wasn't ready for that much power. I've never tested a big race engine with Victor heads. Never actually seen a set of Victor heads on a customer engine.

They didn't say who ported the heads?

My friend Jeff runs Victors in his N/SS 68 Cuda. Heads were done by Goodwin. I believe it's dipped into the 8's at just under 3400 in very good air.

Those heads won’t make 900hp n/a without a fair amount of rework………. same with the manifold.

You’d think if that had happened, it would have been mentioned.

I got 926 hp out of 440-1 heads, but they were ported extensively, had 2.3 intake valves, and about every trick i could come up with to get there in the rest of the combo. Huge cam, .9 mm rings, wilson ported 3x, 15/1 compression, Terminater 2500 cfm theottle body and methanol, 2 1/8 tube excellent headers and a vacuum pump. 900 hp doesn't just show up easy.

Based on the pics, no vacuum pump either.

Victor heads? Not my first choice for 900 hp.
Comp solid-roller camshaft runs the show and pencils out at 280/302 with 0.764-inch of lift? weird duration, maybe a misprint on the exhaust?
Looks like step headers on the dyno, but I don't see the size listed.
This gave a best pull of 908 hp at 6,700 rpm and 799 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. RPM peaks look about right, maybe the HP peak is a little higher than I expect for 572 CID and Victor heads.
Maybe somebody did some serious port work on those heads????

I agree. Not so good on my 12.5:1 511 either. Had one of Dwayne's flat tappets in it and ran a best of 10.06@134/3400#. Slide rule shows 630hp. I would think the combo would have made at least 700hp. My victors are ported and flowed 356@.700 with a 330cc port. Wish i would have stayed with my earlier plan of using 440-1 now.

Yeah the 22 degree spread on the cam duration seems kind of high. Who knows, it could be a mistake or it could be the secret to making 900 hp with mid heads?
