Everybody else in the world loves Cometics but I like the Fel-Pro 1104. Amazon has them $42.79 each. I've also bought from walmart.com I'll have to go out in the shop to get the Cometic #.

The Cometics can be had in different thicknesses. The .040" thick is Cometic 426-G1-040-4.500 .040” compressed. Around a million dollars apiece.

Well, that seems wrong it's really C5447-040 that other number I got off of the wrapper.

We have seen some water migration issues when using the BMP blocks with the 4.500 bore and Cometic gaskets. Let me be clear. I like and use Cometic style gaskets all the time and I am a dealer for them. BUT in this specific case we use the Fel Pro with good success. Look at the water ports on the block. The water is migrating between the gasket layers. Water ends up in the crank case. Ot happened to us twice on different engines. Todd
