(An old reference few here will get, but they'll laugh) Years ago, had a Ford Tempo as a company car, which had an impact sensor to kill the fuel pump in a collision. A feature you'd have to read the Owner's Manual to know it existed. Running down a freeway, I see a black chunk of something but can't swerve enough to avoid it. (Turned out to be a chunk of truck tire tread) So, a good WHUMP as the L/R tire catches it, and the car shuts off. Pulled over, found the reset in the trunk, lit back off. Tire chunk actually folded the lip of the wheel opening back.

Dad and I took it for a high speed run outside of town and it shut off! Dad looked at me like I had kicked a puppy thinking I had blown it up.
