Hi

I’m trying to find the width of these rear wheels on my car, any markings have long been scratched off or faded so can’t tell what they are

Is there any way of knowing without taking the tire off ?

The tires are 275/60/15

Pretty sure they are either 15 x 8 or 15 x 10

Anyone want to guess ?

Many thanks

You measure them pretty easily with a straight edge and tape measure.

275s, not much bulge, 8" is likely at most no way 10"

I'd say 8.0" maybe 8.5" - some wheels are only made in one or the other, or BS will tell you.
Not hard to measure mounted.

I'm going to say they are 10" wide if the bulge is about 1/2" to 9/16" past the rim edges.

I was going to post the same reply except many of the new balancers (like Hunter Road Force)no longer require the data entries....lasers measure it all for you so no calipers required. We have them at work...fantastic machines!!

Lay the tire on the ground. Put a straight edge across the sidewall. Measure from the ground. Now you have the sidewall width of the tire. Then measure down from the sidewall to the outer lip of the wheel using a straight edge. Take this measurement and multiply by 2. Then add 1". Then take that answer and subtract it from the tire sidewall number. Example: Tire sidewall measurement is 12". Sidewall to outer rim lip measurement is 1.5".
1.5 x 2 = 3 3 + 1 + 4 12 - 4 = 8 The edges of the rim vary som with different wheels. Measurements may be off by a 1/4" or so. But it'll be close enough to tell
Doug
