Thinking of running this tire out back. Anyone here run this size tire on a 68-70 Charger?
What rear suspension will help me hook on the street the best?

Pu these on my Bro's Charger once to see how they fit. Fronts are 235/60. Normal street tires are 275/60 and car normally sits with a very slight rake. Drove it around the block without issue, but didn't do any further driving on it to see how they would have lived on the street. Don't know how they would have hooked up on the street either since street asphalt sucks. These were BFG G-Force drag radials on 15x8 Dragstar wheels. They would hook well enough at the strip to nearly lift the front tires on my drag car.

Back in 2008 I put these on my 68 Charger stickshift car along with “then” new SS springs. They were closer on the front side to qtr.. From memory, they had about 1” clearance. Went out for a test session on a pretty deserted road near me. Did a burnout and1st test launch after little spinning they hooked and bent the leafs. permanently bent front segments. The rear axle moved forward during this and the tires got into the front part of the rear quarters. Cut the tires some and and messed up the wheel trim a little.
I pulled those garbage springs off and went with Caltracs and 275-65-15s until they came out with 295/55-15 (which fit perfect and give me the width).

I used to run them back in the 80's. Now down to a normal stock look no more rake.

So you recommend Caltracs? Do your 295/55s hook well?

Did you like them back in the 80s?

I can only say the newer SSsprings did not work at all in my case. They actually bent and stayed bent. Maybe an older set (pre-2000) are better quality? The Caltracs on my car work very well. The drag radials I run are MT ET Street and work pretty good on the street after a little heat is in them. Car pulls good with them.
And the caltracs work very well at the track. Super consistent.
