I broke one setting the lash (which i didn't think was possible)

does anybody know of a source for these? they look to be 7/16 fine thread with a 3/8" ball cup (female at the bottom of the adjuster for Ball end pushrods). I can't find them in the ARP catalog and Comps Tech support is impossible to get a hold of. I thought these would be an advantage over the stud type but I soon realized that if one of them breaks you have to take off the entire rocker shaft to replace it since the stud has a collar below the rocker.

Trying to get ready for Mopars at the Rock in a couple weeks, I didn't even think it was possible to shear one just tightening the lash with a wrench, I'm wondering if the metallurgy is bad?

Bad news. First I have heard of one breaking.

T&D and Manton show them but not sure if they are an exact match.

I have purchased adjusters from Smith Brothers Pushrods in the past.

You might check with them.

Cab,

Exactly what I was thinking. I turn it like 7200 with cold lash at .012 and .014 (~.018/.020 hot) and the lash holds steady They're strong rockers, I 'm just a little gun-shy now

Thanks!

And yet, per a guy who would know, Smith Brothers supplies most NASCAR teams. So yeah, it must be junk.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Manton lists the adjuster at $19.00 a piece. I think I can find a set somewhere for $50-60 hopefully,

Harland Sharp price per (4)

If you think the damage was your fault the others should be fine. If it was a wear issue change them out.

Since when? According to them or from actual race teams?
I've had bad products from Smith Bros back when they were in West Covina, CA in 1969 puke They use to supply almost all the cam companies in SO CA back then when the original owners were making and selling their products, Changes in quality, lack of, and pricing changed all that hence Manton, Trend and other companies taking over the market scopeshruggy work scope
I could go on and on about my personal bad experiences with them but that isn't productive so I won't..

I had one break as well. In my case, it was pretty clear operator error (dropped the rocker). I decided to replace them all and ordered the PRW set. Limited use, but so far so good. If you want, I can check the shop and maybe send you a used one. Send me a message.
