Do you need to unhook all MSD AND. DIGITAL CONTROL AND GROUNDS WHEN tigwelding ? Thanks

I just unplugged my Msd, tach, & battery. Don’t need any issues, stuffs too expensive anymore.

I usually isolate the batteries with the cut off switch and unplug the MSD, Racepak and Dig Dash stuff. I've welded on the car more than once when I've forgotten to unplug things and never had an issue. Does it matter ? or have I dodged a bullet ? Like Cab and Rick says, I'd rather play safe and disconnect and / or remove stuff like SD cards

Turn off the hearing aids too, remember the static on the AM radios with solid core plug wires, same idea

Yes. And pay attention to where you hook the ground. You can damage stuff by putting the clamp in the wrong place.


If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
