Hi All!

I have Code P06dd on my 2012 Durango 3.6L. I've read too many thoughts on the open web and was hoping someone here had sound advice.

This began many months ago, it sometimes briefly goes away, when it comes back it goes into limp home mode, then may or may not drive ok for a while.

It has a Mopar Filter, fresh correct weight oil, replaced the pressure sender with a new Mopar piece, changed the oil cooler/filter housing to the aluminum Dorman updated style.

EDIT - The oil pressure numbers always look as expected for high and low, never saw oil pressure light.

It's AWD so the pump/solenoid is a big job that I don't want to do it if problem persists.

Also some advise an ECM reflash, haven't tried that yet, thoughts?

THANKS! up

Going to need a pump. I do a lot of them on FCA Alfa cars. Same code. Was last year but I think I did one on 3.6 Jeep. I think I did it with just removing the steel oil pan. A lot easier then the Alfa cars.

Thanks for sharing your experience, greatly appreciate it!
The Durango has a 1 piece oil pan, and it's AWD so the diff is smack dab in the way.

Do you have Max Care? I believe it would be covered under that.

Unfortunately I don't, wasn't offered when I bought it. Would have saved me a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's a really good one! beer

Any late entries before I lay down the big $ to do the oil pump/solenoid and pray that's the problem?

Thanks!

And now the rest of the story - changed the pump, used a Melling unit since couldn't find a Mopar OEM in stock anywhere. About a thousand miles and so far so good.

For the pump - for some reason O'Reilly Auto Parts was a lot cheaper than everyone else for the same part.

Is this a common issue with the 3.6 engine across all platforms? Wondering about the 300's and Chargers in particular.

In my extensive interwebs searching, I believe it is. But I'm no expert, just a guy with a (now repaired luck) car. Your mileage may vary. Motorcity Mechanic on YouTube has a lot about it.

Good luck!
