hi
I found out last night that my LA wire boots will be about an inch out of the spark plug heat shields, which will cause it to contact the header in a couple places. What wires should I use? I know that Magnum wires are female both side, while I need male on the distributor side.

I would like preferably cheap wires - I can't afford Taylors or Firecores, as I'm trying to get this thing fired running in a couple weeks. Thanks.

Just get some cheap Magnum wires? Or buy an universal wire kit and connect the proper ends that you need. Do you really need/want the Magnum heat shields? I know on my Ram they have a tendency to collect crud in them. I always blow the shields out after pulling the wire/before removing the plug. On my Dart, I took the shields off when I put them on top of my LA 360.

I left the shields off on my LA/Magnum build; used standard wires for the year/make/model of my truck, 83 D 250, 318. that said, when I used to have my 97 ram when I went to buy new wires they always asked me boot length on the old set; 2 different lengths; I said I did not know; one choice was in stock; the other was avail from the warehouse next-day; I took the in stock set, and they worked fine.
