Hello,

I am hoping someone can advise me on the proper way to replace the bulb in the front side marker light of a 1970 Chrysler Newport. The only "easy" way that I see to do it is to unscrew the assembly form the outer side of the fender. Unfortunately, it does not want to come off. I'm guessing there is something holding it from behind. There is no direct access to the backside of the assembly to replace the bulb. Do I need to disassemble the fender in order to get this done? I've searched but cannot find anything posted on the 1970 model.
In the event it matters, this is a convertible. Any help with the correct procedure is appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Is it just a side marker ? or is it the larger cornering light ?? If it is just the smaller orange side marker, then you should be able to just unscrew the lens from the outside of the fender (should be two screws holding it on), then you can get to the bulb . . . .

It is the basic side marker light.

It doesn't want to give and I already put a small dent in my attempts to pry it off.

a12rag,

Do I feel dumb. I guess I've been tinkering with "modern" cars too much. I always assume the worse in design. Once I went about a different way to remove the bezel, the center lense piece popped out. D'oh!
Thanks for your reply.
