I got this 904 w/ Chevy bellhousing out of a 4 cyl mail Jeep. Are these still popular in certain class like Super Stock where Chevy racers want to upgrade to a superior transmission?

Pro-Trans in California is doing a similar thing now.

They adapt 904 guts to fit in a Turbo-350 housing for the chevy guys.

I don't know the years but Jeep which was owned by AMC used Chevy V6s in the Jeep. I know Larry Morgan had one in his Superstock Firebird at one time before he made the switch to Comp. They had to use it in the late 70s sometime.

Pro Trans has been putting 904 parts in 727s for years, they adapt to a smallblock Chevy and alot of Comp cars use them. But your saying now they are putting 904 parts in a turbo 350 housing? Really?

This has a 9" converter so the Audi must have and 8" or so May be good for something with little or no modifications

Not even a turbo 350 housing, just a 904 or maybe 999? with a chevy bellhousing

When we picked up our 727 from Pro-Trans at MATS, he mentioned that he has developed a T-350 housed 904.
Ie, there is a 904 inside that T-350.

Unless I misunderstood what I heard directly.

The problem with the mail truick trans is it has a 50mm front servo, & the intermediate band suffers with moderate HP, you can sleeve the piston support down to allow for more apply area, but thats about it.

Probably using an Ultra Bell or something like that.

Same way Mopar guys put a Glide in.

Not in stock or super stock. They literally put the insides of a 904 in a Chevy or Ford case. You can have whatever you want inside it but the outside must be OEM. And thats why you shell out $5500 for a ProTrans transmission.

They were putting 904 guts in a c-6 back in the late 80's for stockers. You could tell because they didn't have park, Something I was told they couldn't make work.
