Fiberglass hood and bumpers CM cage over mild steel aluminum bumper brakets light weight wheels Those were the first things on my list and racing seats. Figured with all that stock stuff gone, it would be easily 200lbs worth of savings. Added bonus of this also is less weight in the front.

There is a rather lengthy thread on just this subject. If you search it there must be at least 10 pages on the subject. But the usual are hood, door, gut the interior, etc. I have gone as far as shaving bolts and using titanium.
It really doesn't matter whether you win or lose… as long as you look good doing it!

That old saying that saving 100lbs pounds of weight off a race car can be equal to tenth in the quarter. Or not. Possible true by accident, not linear.

Lighter Lithium battery. Move battery closer to starter saves on battery cable weight. Ounces makes pounds! Pounds make hundreds of pound!

Yup, I forgot the fiberglass hood with integral six-pak scoop it also saved weight by lightening my wallet!

Light wheels, especially if using D60. Reducing the unsprung weight makes the axle easier to control, may help launch. Remember: weight subtracted behind rear axle is cantilevered. Drop 100 behind the axle loses more than 100 from the axle, and adds the same ahead of the axle. Example only: remove 100 = car weight drops 100. Rear wheels drop 120, front wheels increase 20. The amount depends on how far back the removed weight was. Obviously, a small weight or small distance hardly matters, but a bumper is major. This is why ballast is added as far back as possible: the distance behind the axle increases the weight on the axle to more than the weight added. If it were legal, extending the bumper back 3 feet and making it of Mallory Metal would really help weight distribution.
