Havent done it but cant see any reason not to . Better motor... good luck with the project. I believe there are pre emissions wiring and processors available.

I'm sure this has been done many times. With the low responses here, it might be better to ask the question in the "Gen 3" section.

Yep, I would think the Gen 3 section would offer more info.
We installed a 5.7 into a 57 Dodge station wagon, but we used the transmission that was attached to the motor, and we bought a stand alone wire harness from www.hotwireauto.com to make it work with the 5.7 EFI and electronic trans. That set up has been working great for over 4 years now. You are not planning on doing what we did, so our info won't help you much.

The con is your 518 transmission.

I wouldn't waste one second trying to make that turd work with a Gen 3.

Take the 545rfe or 8 speed that comes with the Gen 3 and never look back.

(Grab every inch of wire and computers from your donor vehicle while you are at it. wink )

I can't remember is your truck has the 318 or 360? If 318, maybe look at a 360 Magnum like "The Gas Tap" on Youtube has........

I belong to a very good group on Facebook called Dodge Truck Hemi Swap. You may want to check it out. Lots of experienced info.
