well my motor has been done for a little over a year now and I am STILL having a little vibration problem. It doesnt do it all the time sometimes when you come off the highway and start to slow down you can feel it. It's a stroker kit from 440 source had them balance it as well do you think it could be the balancer?? I believe I have a scat(not sure got it off ebay)sfi bal on there now maybe I should put a TCI rattler on? Looking for any help.
Thanks guys
Duke

9seconphil had a CAT balancer, not SCAT. I use, like and recommend the ATI brand, not the TCI Rattlers. I have heard that the TCI Rattlers break crankshafts If the car vibrates under deaccleration and not at the same speed cruising or under acceleration you probally have a drivetrain related problem, not a motor problem

ok first--- thanks for all the input guys! you guys are the best. well I guess I'm takin the driveshaft back to the place that made it for me and have them recheck it to make sure it's balanced correctly--i had a 8 3/4 rear in there and when I switched to the dana they had to put on a bigger end for the bigger yolk so I'm wonderin if they rebalanced it or said good enough-although I doubt they would do that they are a great bunch of guys but they said they would check it out again for me. Now if that checks out ok where do I look next? I have a new Hughes converter in there hell everything is new but I know that doesnt mean anything I know you can still get something a little out of spec.

The driveshaft needs to be shortened when switching to a Dana from an 8 3/4. Did you measure what length you needed after you put the dana in? CHIP

if it's in the engine, you should be able to feel it revving the motor in park/neutral and the car stationary.

or you could discount anything in the engine if you put the car in neutral and turn it off as you decell....if you feel it, then it can't be the motor or input side of the torque converter (as it would be stationary). could be driveshaft balance, tire balance, tire out of round, pinion angle, rear tranny mount, tranny output bushing, etc....

besides many known cases of the jell getting hard and to many broken crank shafts to count, probably nothing

Ok got back from the shop & they tell me the driveshaft is twisted from the trans yolk about 1/4-1/2 way down the shaft. They got it balanced but it's still not straight so I guess a new tube is in store for me--I hope this is not going to be a ongoing problem......
