Hey Guys, I need your help...I'm in the process of installing an instrument cluster and lower dash pad on a 69 roadrunner...I'm puzzled about these clips ? where do they go ?

Those are for the heater/defroster hose to the vents clips

Anyone have a close-up picture of how these get installed?

Pushed onto vent tubes and then hoses push on, near as I can figure, but probably also work hose 1st/vent 2nd.
Either way, a sumbiotch to remove hoses once installed laugh2

So, the longer side of the clip goes to the outside and the hose is pushed on after the clip is in place? That seems like something the factory would engineer. (quick and easy to install on the line)

Will those factory clips work with the replacement hoses? I think those are rubber and not wire/paper like originals.( I have some but I guess I haven't taken them out of the box to look)

Last I heard, the "repro" plastic hoses are a bit too large.
But yes, the idea back in the day was to stab the stuff together quickly.

Just checked my reproduction hoses. I initially thought they were just solid rubber, molded to look like the original ducts. They do however have a wire core. Instead of the factory paper like stuff wrapped around the wire, the reproductions are rubber with a wire core. I slid one onto a spare dash duct that had one of those clips installed. It pushs on over the clip and then locks in place. Works pretty good.

The reproduction hoses are both the same size and fit over the dash ducts. They come with two adapters for the heater box. The adapters have different IDs so they fit the heater box...then the hoses push onto those adapters.
