I have a new 3 speed wiper motor, converting from the 2 speed. I assume I need a different switch? how does the "park" mechanism work? with the 2 spd switch, I can make this 3 speed motor go two speeds, but no park.

I bought one that supposedly worked on ebay last year. It didn't. I sure wish these were reproduced.

Jules restores these as I recall.

Not too hard to take the switch apart..
Most of the times the contacts are just pitted or corroded. Reburnish the contacts, coat with dia-electric grease and check for continuity. If good to go, then re-assemble.

Just my $0.02..

That is true.
However if the bi-metal breaker has lost it's memory from over heating then it will need attention.
I have fixed some in the past but not a 100% record.

That sucker is behind my dash now. Not coming out again anytime soon. I coat my windshield with rain X and try not to get caught in the rain. I'll take my chances for a while. Everytime I jack with something dash related I risk scratching something that I'll have to live with forever.

One of these days it will bug me enough. Sure wish I woulda tested it myself before I installed it.

If it won't park, you have a ground problem. There is a metal strip on the back side of the switch panel and it has to be grounded to the dash or the motor will not go to park. I've seen it a dozen times. Turn off the switch and take a grounded wire and touch the strip and see if I'm right.

You did change the wiper arm out inside the cowl? The 3-speed arm is totally different thatn the 2-speed arm. The pivot is different as well.

jim_s@verizon.net My friend Jim restores mopar switches and does a very good job. Dimmer switches to with new windings. I send him all the e body switches I find. He does b body switches to. Honest man that does this on the side. Also rear defogger systems. You won't be sorry. He rebuilt my road lamp switch for me and also my heater switch. You may try giving him a shout.

He lives in Pittsgurg Pa
