cdp OP master C Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,691 MO	A friend has some 69 manifolds that he said he'd trade even for another set, regardless of date. What date code should I be looking for? I think he said these were 4-69. thanks Chris

JohnRR I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 75,004 U.S.S.A.	You can't go by the tag date on an A12 as they were built well into June of 69 with all tags of the second run reading 4/26 . Whats the assembly date of your engine ?

cdp OP master C Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,691 MO	My car is an all #'s car, but I never paid attention to the dates on the Kmember, engine block, etc. My block cast is 5-15-69, so I should be good to go. How do I find the engine assembly date? The major components missing were the exhaust manifolds, distributor and H-Wheels. All I need now is a distributor or tag. Thanks

Thanks Assembly date is on the engine ID tag , I'm curious to see what it is compared to your casting date .

My 280xxx Roadrunner's K-frame was stamped 155 for June 4th. Your engine cast date timing doesn't help much because there can be quite a lag from the date the block is cast and the engine actually assembled. The K-frame number is not hard to find. It's generally front and center viewed from below. It will also have a 9 and a 1 or 2 for shift that built it. ______________________________________________ http://regcars.homestead.com/car107.html

MikeR agree with the late May+ possible build date with that VIN, my A12 with a 270xxx VIN is a May 7-9 assembly as close as I know...

dstryr master Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,966 Wendy, I'm home.	My engine was cast 05-15-69, assembled 06-04-69, vin 272929. Exhaust manifolds are dated 05-23 and 05-25. Car was probably built during the 2nd or 3rd weeks of June. The door panels are also dated in the 05-23 range. It has been a while since I had it apart and didn't record dates from the panels. dstryr, since 1986.
