I have 235 60 15's on the front of my Challenger with no problems. I do have fiberglass fenders if that makes a difference. I would think 225 70 15's would fit OK, but someone else should know for sure.

Thanks. Using a comparison calculator, a 225 70 r 15 is 1.3" TALLER than a 235 60 15. 1.3 overall height difference is .65 larger radius. So roughly 5/8 of an inch. If the 235/60 has more space than this in any area, the 225/70 should be okay, but ride height can be a big factor. If its stock, probably no problem. If its turned down at all, it might rub. Go browsing pictures of drag cars. 27.4 overall diameter with 6" tread isn't far off from a 27x4 front runner size.

Top picture 225/70-15 on 15x7 Torq Thrust wheels with 3.75" back spacing. Perfect fit, no rubbing. Best front tire height to match rear 28" tire.
Bottom picture 245/60-15 tire on a 15x8 wheel with 4.50" back spacing. About 1.5" shorter than the rear 275/60-15 28" tall tires. Tires will rub slightly on inside frame during full lock turn.

That's a good sized tire under the rear, is the rear end stock width?
I stuffed 325/50-15 drag radials on 15x10 wheels under my wife's Challenger using a 1967 B body rear end and Dr. Diff's offset spring hangers.

Thanks for the input! New rubber all the way around! 7" CENTERLINE Rims with 3 7/8" backspacing up front, 10" CENTERLINE Champ 500s with 5" backspacing in the rear. The rear has been modified. I can assure you that this is the absolute biggest rear tire that can be fit into a stock wheel well (leaf springs removed of course).
