Im considering an intake for a new 470 low deck street, limited track engine. 550ish hp pump gas 3600lb. swb truck,
no deep gears, 3000 stall. Is Holly's fuel injection better suited to a single plane?
I have a Street Dominator and like the hood clearance, but seems rather small for this size engine.
It seems to be the only low rise single plane available. I want to keep it all under a stock hood.
Would an Edelbrock RPM be a contender for fuel injection? thx 4 ur thoughts

Not a pro but everything I have read says single plane for FI. The Holley Street Dominator doesn't "look" like anything but consistently is a great performer. Check out the low deck intake battle from car craft or Hot Rod a few years back. It was pretty similar to the Edelbrock RPM giving up very little down low, outpulling on top and comparing very nicely to several, larger more modern intakes. And like you said, it will fit under the hood of anything.

When I was building my motor I read about issues with fuel pooling on the floor of the intake when using TBI style EFI and dual planes. Wound up getting a Torker 383 single plane for my 512 build.

As long as the rest of the build is on par with 550hp, the SD should be able get you there.

Anything that’s better....... is also taller.

SD will work on that engine. Are you going with a Holley Sniper setup? The TF intake is the best but it is probably too tall for your application.

What year Dodge truck ?
All the 1954 and later Dodge trucks I've own and seen have a lot of room in the engine compartments, especially above the carbs. shruggy

A friend of mine had a 1976 4 door ramp dually 1 ton truck with a 400 in it, it seems to me that it had a lot of room above the carb. Does yours?
