Having a issue with float level on my t ram carbs. The carbs set sideways and engine has a 3* angle back. I need 3* carb spacers. Anyone know where to find them. 5* is the smallest I can find. Thanks

If they are not available, i guess only option would be to have a shop angle mill them to your spec. What material are you talking about? Alum?

Yes and another idea I had was to have the t ram carb pads machines instead. I think that’s what I will do and get some 1/2” phenolic spacers under the carbs. Thanks

I'd suggest finding spherical washers

I like that idea.
If the manifold carb pad is about 7", the 3 degrees is about :

tan (3 deg) = h/7
h = 7 * tan (3 deg) = 0.367"

The machinist could take more off, at same angle, but remember time is money.

Are you going to angle the carb studs too, or run them thru the carb base at an angle?

Yes, what ever he needs to do to make them right. BLP told me today that there will be no power found in leveling these carbs thou. May run them as is til end on season.

Yes, sorry, I scanned rather than read your message. 5 Degrees was what I tried. I used them on an indy modman with two edelbrock carbs, thinking the engine tilt was affecting my launch. It made no difference. What it did do was help dump raw fuel when slowing down at the end of a run.

How are going to compensate when for the acceleration force and wheelie when the fuel all goes to the back sides of the bowls? Is 3 degrees stationary is an issue, I think not.

This is looking like leveling the engine itself would be best? With the carbs leaned reward the fuel is already to the rearward side, so what would happen on launch? An issue? Not sure. I’m going to raise float levels til it idles fat and lower a tad, one flat from there. I’ll run it for now.

if you don't also angle the attaching studs like andy said, you will need to obtain some sort of spherical washers so as to not stress the studs and intake/spacer.

Yeah, I have been thinking that . Might just be better to level the engine, but then we get into drive shaft angles.

What difference does it make? None. The fuel moves around in the bowl all the time.

I think your right. Wasted time. Indy said that was a corrected intake. I’ll have to measure, if it is I’ll just turn it around.

Change the mount points on the motor if you have a plate.

I use 1 mm (Schumacher) on pass side to keep motor front moving for fore and aft. Otherwise that would be an easy fix. Thanks guys
