A buddy of mine is tearing into his '69 Road Runner. It was a really nice driver that got hit in the nose this summer so now he is pulling it apart and making it nicer. Since the core support and radiator were ruined in the accident he is taking the opportunity to upgrade to a 26 inch setup. He is also going to upgrade to front disc brakes.....

The new engine has been dyno tested and is ready to go. It is a pump gas 508 with TF 270 heads and a Comp street roller. Made 700 hp with a Sniper XFlow on a ported intake. Should be fun. Car is a four speed with a Dana 60 so we'll see how long the transmission lasts.

Stock 4 speed? If so, and it hooks, it's not going to last long with 700hp. Need more pictures!

....and now would the time to move the brake and (way too small) fuel lines.

I hope he uses a McLeod RST clutch or something like that! Cool car! I love RR's.

He is planning to install a 3/8 fuel line. Brake lines will be replaced with reproductions but not moved. It isn't a race car, just a street car with a bunch of power.

He does have a Comp street roller cam. 260/266 at 050. The springs are dual conical with T&D rocker arms.

Andy, do you have any experience with Comps roller rockers? Not the aluminum ones.

Yes I've used them on several engines over the years. They seem to work just fine for street or street/strip type of engine.

Ideal time to examine the "what oil pan clears what cross member?" question.

The engine has a Milodon road race pan on it so I imagine there might need to be some clearancing.

Here is a Pic of our 69 . It is a real Hemi Car that was ran in B/MP by a local hero back in 69 and 70. It actually set the B/MP mph record in 1970. It still carries its original B-5 paint and it has been relettered to look like it did back in the day. It has the A-12 hood because it ran a cross ram and 2 holleys in its B/MP form. A.J Cassini and Bob George at BGR built the pump gas 484" Hemi. We have not really had a chance to wring it out yet but it has gone a low 10 at 128 mph. Probably a lot of people saw the car this year at Carlisle and the Nats.

Another Pic. This Car was also long time owned and lovingly preserved by Hemi Denny Thomas .
