Anyone with an original 1968 Dart 383 with an automatic trans (8.75 rear axle) that could share some pics of the driveshaft? I’m trying to understand if the driveshaft I have is the original. Below are a couple of pics of what I have. I know it's been rebalanced given the change in shape of weight. The measurements appear to match up to Galen's Book (FIW).

If you clean it up, you might still find the part # stamped into the tube.

Thank you for the feedback! I was more concerned with the elongated taper at the one end. The measurement was not exactly matching the parts book/Galen's pocket guide, but I'm sure it could be due to manufacturing variance.

Here is a link to a post I added on to for driveshaft cleaning. de rusted driveshaft. Look for my post on 11/15/17.

I think mine looks different than yours. I have a 68 383 auto. I probably have better photos on my PC if you want to see more.
