Why not scrap the universal tubing crossmember and mount the motor on the square tube suspension/steering crossmember?

I'm a little worried the angle would be such that the mount would apply a lot of twisting torque because it's so far behind the new cross member. I'll be boxing the frame and adding support plates to the cross member because of the gaps to the frame rails.
Here's a somewhat better pic. The original mm cross member mount bolt holes are actually further back than the pic shows. The weight of the engine would be to the rear of the new cross member by about an inch. Too much twisting torque?

The engine (small Chebby) is offset to the passenger side. Yeah, I know... I already told him we need to dump the engine and get a 5.7 Hemi in there.
when will these guys learn that a mopar belongs in a mopar, I don't care how cheap a chevy is, put it in a chevy rant over!!!!!
as far as mounts go I would use the ones from chassis engineering and if you have to, cut loose the rack mounts and aim it a little lower to go under the mount
and talk your friend into putting a mopar in it Ron....

Or box in the frame rails and lose the tubular piece altogether. Affix the motor mounts to the inner frame rail. It looks to me that the surrent crossmember is a little far foward to use for the mounts.
