I've seen some Carter fuel pump kits on Jegs. Does anyone know if they will fit the Carter 6270?

If so, will that kit fit the Holley 360-11 or edelbrock 1720?

Reason I'm asking is that I have the quick fuel branded holley pump and it is spewing out the top hole.

Thanks
Chris

A few years ago I tried to get a kit for my old Holey that I bought in the 70s.Not avaliable.Had to go new pump.Dont know if the Carter will work.I guess you would have to see if the diaphrams etc are the same.Rocky

Just had the lower pressure Carter small block bolt 2-part spit out the top a few weeks ago.

It was 7 years old.

The chrome edelbrock is same body as carter but with bigger fitting threads.

Basic rebuild kit same, but I don’t know how the three valves relate to the pressure rating.

Pressure is controlled by the big spring (relative to the diaphram area but those all pretty close in size on a 70 up small block pump).

Catherder's explantion is really clear:

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Edelbrock pump and it is visually identical to the Quick Fuel pump I have.

Anyway, on the road but want to rebuild the other as a spare. I have heard Carter has a pretty good tech line, I might see what they say about a rebuild kit for the Carter.
