Came in a 69 Roadrunner?
I have a 69 440 HP out of a Roadrunner in my 67 fury wagon mated to the original trans. The 440HP motor has been punched .030. and has a mopar purple cam in it. Not sure of the cam specs
Car has a 3.90 rear in it. Its a pig.
I'm assuming a swap in converters to the Road runner converter would wake this thing up Maybe?

the info from my 69 charger FSM states the 440/4bbl torque converter is a 10 1/2" with a 2000-2300 stall. [plymouth would be the same.]
you may consider a change to a 2800-3000 stall. that would wake it up for sure.
best to talk to someone like A&A to get their recommendations.

No 440 prior to '73 came with anything but an 11 3/4" (12") converter. A '69 383 RR would have come with a 10 3/4" (11") converter.

you're correct john. i mis-typed. should have been 10 3/4 [11"].
however, page 21-94 states the A-727 high performance versions came with the converter above.
i will defer to your 11 3/4" [12"] as gospel because you have way more experience than i do.
i stand corrected, even though i quoted from the 69 coronet/charger FSM.

Yeah, another case where the factory literature conflicts with itself. As you can see from the parts manual, there was only one converter available with the 440, Hi-PO of not. The 764 converter is the small one, the 586 is the large one.

Your cam specs and compression are important when choosing a converter otherwise your flying blind! Any way to find out?
