I just got back a set of ported 915's that I bought used. I had them freshened up, while the shop had them they threw them on the bench. What do you think? Numbers are at 28" .100 IN 74.4 / EX 57.9 .200 IN 148.9/ EX 99.9 .300 IN 208.9/ EX 135.6 .400 IN 268.9/ EX 170.3 .500 IN 258.2/ EX 191.9 .600 IN 262.9/ EX 205.3 .700 IN 258.2/ EX 207 These heads going on zero deck, stock stroke 440 with MOPAR 590 solid cam, worked over M1 single plane intake, 850HP annular booster carb, and pro parts big tube headers. Any comments? What kind of power would you feel this would make?

You'll be looking at 450 - 460 HP. The heads are still going to be the cork in the system. I went from mildy ported 915's to Eddie RPM's out of the box and picked up 1/2 second. You've got plenty of cam and intake and well balanced carb. The duration of the cam should help the small ports, but just remember you aren't using it's full potential. What is your compression?

Those are some pretty good flowing 915's. That combo might make 550hp.

I see alot of guys running this combo. My 65 Fury (4000 lbs) Line performance ported iron 452's. Ultradyne .590-.613 cam, 825 race Demon, M-1 intake, MSD, 440, car ran 11.16 at 118. Your combo should make well over 550 HP.
Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

FWIW - I had a 906's that had a flow sheet nearly identical to his and they went high 10.30s @ 128 on a TRW 440 shortblock with a small roller @ 3,240 lbs. In the dog summer days at Sac it would go .40's @ 127 like clockwork. Yea, it was a ladder bar car with a big tire, race converter, but the point is those "ol skool" heads did a good job.
With it hooking and a converter that's even close it should get in the 10's!

Wow, Almost the same combo I have run the last 3 years. I run a set of 915's which are not completely hogged out, but do have the 1.81 2.14 valves. Same cam, same intake, 750 annular discharge holley, trw 11.5 slugs on stock rods, crane 1.6 roller rockers. SS springs, leaving with a brake. 10.644 with 1.401 60 ft. 122 mph in a 3335 lb a-body. Enjoy the trouble free combo.

Update- took completed engine to Dave Bruns (Mid America Racing Engines, Washington Ia) shop and had motor broke in and dyno tested.
Threw a Wilson Manifolds tapered 1.5" combo spacer under the carb for the tests.
Best ignition timing was 38 total.
Motor made 561 HP at 6200. Best torque was 520 at 4900.
Threw a 1050 Dominator w/ shear plate and small phenolic spacer on it for kicks.
Motor made 565 Hp and 517 ft/lbs.
We used Sunoco 110 for fuel, NGK plugs gapped at .035, and FireCore 50 plug wires.
