i am a PPG certified painter since PPG had a certification program, early 90's.
in MOST circumstances base coat does NOT have isocyanates in it. usually only the clear coat and single stage paint does. 2K sealers have it also. as posted before get a tech sheet, usually available online, and know what you are using before using it.
even without isocyanates base coat does have some harmful chemicals in it, even water base coat does, so you should ALWAYS wear a respirator when spraying it.
buy yourself a approved, i don't know the proper certification safety #'s, respirator and start spraying. a quality disposable 3M respirator from the paint store is just fine.
also i would recommend painting with safety glasses and gloves because isocyanates are absorbed thru the eyes and skin. if you want to go overboard use a paint suit also. i wear one not for exposure but for less dirt in the paint.
some people will disagree with me but approved respirators are actually only good for 24 hours of exposed air time. avoid exposing to open air as much as possible. also keep the respirator in a sealed Ziploc bag and them place it in a sealed container with a lid like a large old coffee can. remove any facial hair to make sure it seals properly and do a fit test, hold the exhaust closed with your hand and lightly exhale, after putting it on.
being a pro and spray paint almost daily, i myself paint base coat with a 3M respirator for better vision and spray clear with this,
