Anyone have a pic or illustration of an A-Body 340/727 column shift setup (Z-Bar)? This is the bracketry/hardware that goes from the shift lever to the steering column.

I'm pretty sure brackets are different for 727/904. Not sure of which pieces or what years may cause a conflict. My guess is that you may see a change if the bracket on the column changed, which could change the "throw."

904 and 727 parts are different for several of those pieces.

Anyone have a pic of their A-Body shift linkage that they can share with a 340/727/column shift setup?

I have pictures of my linkage. I can also take pics of my car. My pictures are on my other computer and I probably won't be able to get to it until tomorrow. What do you want to see? Send my a PM with your email.

I couldn't find pictures of my linkage off of the car. Here are some pics of it installed.

Mine is also tight as mentioned by the OP on both the 72 Duster and the 69 Dart...
In looking at the above pics the bracket in the first picture that bolts to the trans is different than mine...
Mine does not have the offset which relocates it forward...
I suspect that may be the same problem the OP is having...
Both my cars were /6 cars with 904's and the crossbars and all linkage and brackets from the slant six cars were re-used when the 340's went in...
It can be made to operate fine but it is tight... twocents
I searched all my pics but had none of that linkage... shruggy

...FAFO...

Thank you very much for the pics and feedback. The restoration shop is having an issue with the shifting into low (1-gear). I'm going to share the pics/info with them. I cannot believe how tight area is to fit all the linkage. The technicians/mechanics have/had to have patience when working on these A-Bodies.
