Let's say there's a Satellite Sebring with a 383. What color should the engine be?
I'm guessing blue for the 2bbl. and orange for the 4bbl.? Thank you! 71 383 N-code’s are orange in B and E bodies Not sure what C-body 383 4 bbl are painted? Or if there are two versions of that?

N-96 motors had Holleys. Non N96 motors had Carters.
I rarely disagree with you Mark, but this time I have to!

383's weren't Hemi orange. Wedge engines were a different shade, same as air cleaner tops. Do you have some kinda of bulletin with that information? Ron

Wedge engines were a different shade than Hemi engines As far as I've always known wedge and Hemi's were Hemi Orange. Now earlier in Hemi life I believe 66 and back were Race Hemi Orange which was a lighter shade. I'm not a Hemi expert but remember something like that. Ron

When Direct Connection was selling engine paint in the early '80s they had one orange. I bought some and painted my 440, it looked great. Thought it was the correct color for a '71 engine. Several years later it was disclosed that it was just a little lighter than Hemi Orange, and was in fact Max-Wedge orange. I never heard that Hemis and wedges were different oranges, at least in '69-'71.

I think Frank Baldason knows what he is talking about. He is the one that said wedges are different. It all boils down to what you are looking for, correct, or just orange.
