Hey guys I plan on getting my heads ported and polished by someone but not too sure who yet so any references would be appreciated. Also I have a few questions about fitment. Like would my old Stock style TTI headers headers fit or is there an adapter to use so I don't have to purchase a new set ? I have a well worked and ported M1 intake now but what is the best ? I know I am getting the Indy one with the deal also. Any and all advice would be appreciated..

Use Brett Miller or Brian at IMM to port your heads. Its easy to grind through on the Indys.
I made adapter plates to make my hooker adj work for me. but they have a 4 bolt flange. You might have to cut your flanges and weld new ones.
The indy intake is the best for those heads and you might want to have it ported by who ever does your heads

Thanks for the recommendation on me porting the indys.

The way to go is get Indy to CNC them only and get a good shop to valve job them and blend.

The Indy CNC port can make good power and most of the hand port stuff has not been that good. (Most I would call shine job ) sand roll and make you feel good about spending your money.

Water to close in the short turn to really get after this head.

If yours are as cast the Indy program will be a big improvement.

Some work on the intake will help also if it's as cast.

Hey guys thanks for the replies.. The CNC idea sounds really good but I hate dealing with INDY due to the attitude. Brett I will message you if that's okay . I spoke with Ryan at Shady Dell and he states that he can do the heads with a CNC machine also. "Ou812" I have seen and heard of your work and the numbers are great. If you were closer we sure would talk.

The brown truck goes everywhere. I wouldn't let geography pick my head guy.

I will say I have not personally seen ANY head that was CNC ported that I would run. Not a single one. They all need some finish work.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Couldnt agree more. In the overall cost of doing a build an extra 100 or two involved in shipping those heads to a guy like Brian i wouldnt think a second about.
I know a poster on here named David Dean has been 120 in the 1/8 with Indy heads IMM did. To me thats ultra impressive
I have heard of Indy CNC heads leaking just from having theyre CNC run on them.

I couldn't agree with you more there about CNC'd heads and read to many nightmare stories about Indy not standing behind their work. As far as shipping stuff that's the main reason I never took on more porting work. I used to charge 500-600 to port heads and 150.00 for intakes. It was local carry in work that they could drop off and pay after the work was finished. Living in the Country I didn't want bothered with driving the 20 mile trip to ship stuff and box it up. Some of the CNC'd stuff I've checked on my bench would have you shaking your head. I know I did.
