Wow! Great build! Looks like for best ET you could keep the rpm below 7500 rpm? What are the head flow numbers? Yes I think 7500 will be the shift point power is still good at 7500. Did not flow heads but have done so many w9s they would be in the 360-370 range Exhaust would be in the 250s This has small 2.15 intake valve and exhaust valve with wrong shape. 45° valve seats. (Not what I normally use on w9) but locked into using valves and no margin to change seat angle.

It's my small intake port and not the size or type of valve I would use for max effort deal. Only 2.15" intake valve and they are steel.
What minimum & average CSAs does your "small" port have? Any more details about the cam you can provide?

Nice Work Bret, would this power level work ok without the extra head bolts? I have a 59* R1 in my car with the extra bosses milled off.

Does this mean I'll have to ask you at Carlisle next year after you frisk me to make sure I'm not recording the conversation? Also, you mentioned custom Icon pistons... as in directly from the manufacturer, or modified by someone else? Only asking because I thought they didn't offer anything except their stocking pistons.

Brett is pretty secretive. He will post up some jewelry on Facebook and then disappear. I made a comment about the deep valve pockets and he posted back he did that to lower the compression. I was kinda surprised by the sharp edges left and was always led to believe edges should be slightly radiased. Looks like a nice combo that won’t have to be shifted as high as some of the W9 stuff.
