The bottom latch has a tendency to rust up on those doors. Remove the door panel and start spraying a penetrant. Let it soak.

Good luck Clem If it was a 98-02 I would agree, but an 08 has the latch like the front doors.

You may need to R&R the latch assy. to inspect it and/or clean & lube it (or go ahead and replace it). If the inside handle linkage is still attached to latch, then it may be a problem with the child lock part of the latch. Taking the latch assy. out would make it easier to see and work on. Tim
