I'm currently running a 165/80/15 radial on 15x4 wheels on the front of my '63. The front wheel openings on this car are MASSIVE and dwarf this size of tire. Any taller yet slim street radials out there?

'63 Dodge 330

Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs.
10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

M&H sells a 185/75R15, but it's only 26" tall which is not a huge improvement.

I have purchased a set of the M&H to replace the 215/75R15 front tires on my 5" rims. The 215s measure about 27" tall, but I'm going w/ the M&Hs to help lower the front of my Challenger a bit more.

Brad I really liked the way my car used to drive with the M&H 185/75R15 on the front.

I've run as tall as 205/75 & 215/75 R 15s on early Bs - just regular street tires, though - and they fill the opening nicely. Might have some interference at the bottom front fender corners depending on ride height & track width. Usually a 45-degree cut with some snips, no more than an inch, cures that; only needed to touch up the edge of the cut.

FWIW, I wasn't able to find that size available in the U.S. It must be a pretty obscure size for an OEM fitment.

That's the only one I've found that fills the bill. Pricy, though, at over $200/tire for 28"! Ouch!

Not to mention ugly as heck, with that funky tread pattern. I’ve written M/T about this very subject in the recent past. With all the good radial rear rear tires these days, the market is void of drag-specific radial front runners. I’ve gotten no response from them which is disappointing. But I’ve got to believe they can see the hole in their lineup, and the market potential (??).

The M/T Sportsman SR fronts are the ONLY tall AND skinny radials out there. Everything else is either 26" or shorter. Most are 25", no matter what the online measurements tell you. Anything taller than 26" gets too wide to be considered a "skinny" to me, except for the M/Ts.

LUMI...You probably believe a 165R15 tire will blow out at speeds above 112 mph too.

I've looked over several cars, and have come to the conclusion an awful lot of race cars out there are running either radial slicks or drag radials in the back, along with bias ply front runners.

Nobody seems to want to talk about it, but I wonder if they have any issues. Probably no (?)
