I have a 1989 Dodge 150 and it needs a turn signal switch. I have scoured the web and every switch I find says WITH tilt wheel only.

Is this correct or is it wrong? Not sure I've seen a Dodge truck of that era with a tilt wheel. I suspect it should say WITHOUT tilt wheel and it's a web misprint.

Any ideas????

If you can find the part number, super huge help in searching.

So I guess stupid question; you're saying your truck does not have tilt.

Facts are stubborn things.

The fancier le trucks usually had tilt, which is then a Delco type column, makes it different from straight non tilt mopar. There's gotta be somebody servicing either type, I would hope...

You're right. I just looked all over and EVERYWHERE lists with tilt.

Do you think they use the same switch in this case? I know it's usually a different one, but I checked rockauto, and several other sources and they all list w/tilt.

IDK what to think. I can't imagine they made more trucks with tilt than trucks without.

Ive looked everywhere and all I can find is those that say tilt only.

I'm stumped.

I'll have to walk out and look but IIRC my truck is the LE model, although it's a 318 with a stick it has every other option...except tilt.

I may be screwed unless I can find a switch or someone knows someone who can repair the switch.

Thats why I said usually, because I believe some years with man trans could not be ordered with tilt. What's wrong with your switch anyway? I'm sure somebody could hook ya up with good used.

i looked up a 1989 and 1986 d150 at rock auto, they both list an sm126 part number for tilt wheel.

but the 86 application also lists some switches for non tilt wheel so maybe try that application...

The 89 tilt is the same column above the tilt for nearly all Mopars 88 until the air bag started to come into play around 92/93.
I suspect you will find the non-tilt column takes the same switch from around 80 or 81 up the the air bag era.

The mid-late 70s columns (both tilt and non-tilt) were different then the 81/82 - early 90s, and the year to two before the air bags are different again.

I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with the switch except the TS almost never blink on the dash, but the hazards always do.

I can hear the flasher going off, but nothing blinks. Then, once in a while, the turn signals will blink at the bulbs, but the dash indicators don't blink. And then, if I forget and keep using the switch, the right side dash light and bulbs will flash maybe half a dozen times and then they quit.

I'm a bit nervous about buying used electrical stuff. I've never been successful with used electrical parts.

I'm not sure how common this is. It's a pain in the ass for sure, because you never know if the blinkers are working or not.

Badscientist strikes again.

Based on the symptoms, I'd just fix the one I had.

Well how about I send you this one and YOU fix it. Wait, you can't degree a cam, and your buddy above thinks an oil slinger is an important piece in a race engine.

You two dildos have nothing to offer, as is usual.

Well [censored], that's the first one for the non tilt wheel. Evidently SMP is the only one making it. The price is outrageous.

If you want I have a 10lb sledge that you can borrow and use it to hammer it where the sun don't shine. BTW genius, I know how to degree a cam, I know several way to do that as well. I also know [ Moparts Family Site - Keep it Friendly ] multi-viscosity oil is, which you don't and you apparently conflated me with someone else in the process.

So clown, I suggest you think before you post because you are a super genius on the Wile E. Coyote level.

Thanks for the tip. You evidently just come here to bust my balls but since you are an insignificant speck on a gnats ass I don't care.

Don't post in my threads if you don't like what I say. You've never proven me wrong, you just another keyboard sissy.

Later dude.

I realize I am late to the party , but what you probably need is the turn signal cam ( it breaks at the pivot point )

search for SHEE-MAR SM-20 on ebay ( about $10-$12 )

this may solve the problem
