I have the b&m rachet shifter with shiftnoid air. Been having problems this season and have changed rpm switch and other things well it bit me again this weekend. Worked great first 6 passes. So I'm down to changing the cable. Been in car for 8-10 years.

What problem? I never even think about it.

I went through a couple early on with my car. Then I put a heat resistant sheath on it.... been a number of years now with no issues. It’s heat that kills ‘em.
If you got 8-10 years, however; I wouldn’t call that a problem, I’d call that maintenance.

I have only replaced mine once in all the years I have had the car and only because it got too close to the header tube.

That hit the nail on the head. That's about the only reason most shifter cables go bad......to close or touching a header tube. Ron
