What # is correct for the 6bbl auto Challenger? I don't know if it is an original AC car or not... both #'s would be helpful.

Is it a 26" radiator, or were 24" also used? My buddy says his original was a 24".

3443959? That's what the '71 parts catalogue comes up with. It shows the same one for the Hemi.
26" core.

Well, It's either an original 6 bbl or A/C, it can't be both. A/C wasn't available with the 6 pack set up as there was not enough clearance between the air cleaner and the compressor. Plus I don't think the A/C compressors like to be spun to 6K + rpm on a regular basis .

Ouch. I guess it won't come cheaply then.

His car is an original 6 pack car, so no AC. But he says his core support is a 24".... so what's up with that?

Isn't it either 22" or 26" for muscle applications? Would the opening in his 6 pack car be a 24" opening for a 26" radiator?

Does the Data Tag have "26" at the end of the codes. If not the car may take a 22" rad.My buddy had a 70 Challenger R/T 6 pac car w/a 22" rad. They all didn't get the H.D. cooling system package. John.

I think his body shop did him the favor of LOSING that tag...!

He says it is supposed to have a 22"... I just don't typically take everything for face value, but he most certainly might be right. What would be the # if it were a 22"?

Steve, all 6bbl 727 3:23 cars had, for the most part, 22" standard rads.. Hoss's '71 v-code Challenger R/T is an original 22" car...

Ahh... shoulda came to you from the get go!

He says his 26" rad. has been converted to a 4 core and for some reason the fan shroud doesn't clear...? He was asking if I wanted to sell the Bee's 22". I told him not particularly, but I'd find out more about his situation.

I did some research on line and as luck would have it, Hoss's car calls for the 2998960 radiator. The same # that is on the tank of the Bee's radiator. My Bee calls for a 2998954 radiator, but I'd be willing to go aluminum. I'll see if him and I can work something out. Thanks everyone.

PIB: Those 2998 960 and 2998 954 rads you list are for 1970 model cars, NOT for 1971 cars, which is what you were originally looking for. The 22" rad you need is 3443 938.

Yes, good point. I kinda have two threads going regarding the same radiator and this was brought to my attention yesterday on the other thread. Thanks.
