What is the best way to top off my 833 4 speed in my Challenger?
Should I fill only up to the fill plg?
I do no have a lift or anything and I want to make sure I have it filled enough. Thanks

The problem is the lube is so damn thick !! Usually I fill the box before installing it. Good luck!!

I went out and bought one of those plastic hand pumps that go into the gallon jug. It sure made life easier when putting gear oil into a rear end or a 4 speed box.

I fill mine just like an automatic. I keep a funnel with a length of garden hose on it for this, fill from under the hood with a pan under the trans. When I put in the proper amount I go under and pull the hose out of filler hole and any extra in the hose or trans. just drips out into pan. When dripping stops your done.

The way I fill my transfer case is to borrow a pointy cap from a gear oil bottle, put an appropriate sized rubber hose tightly over the tip, and holding the bottle horizontal, squeeze it in. You won't get every last bit out of the bottle, but you'll get it done.

Make sure you use a GL-4 rated fluid, NOT GL-5.

Another vote for the small plastic hand pump on gallon jug.
