Not sure if this will help as I don;t recall the casting # of the heads but I did have a 525 hyd cam w/ my old iron heads. They were built for a different combo so I doubt any special work was done but it was almost 10 yrs ago.

you need to double check before final assembly, but you can usually get away with almost .550 lift before you have clearance issues.
I thought I read some where that .510 lift was the most you could go with out guide to retainer clearance problems, also read .480 was the most. I like the lunati .494/.513 268 cam, but I don't want to have to shorten the valve guides. If .513 is too much lift for stock 906 heads I will pick another cam with less lift. Thanks for any info

The .513 lift would be with 1.5 rockers. Since you're gonna run stock stamped steel rockers, they are less than 1.5, so the .513 becomes something less. Maybe more like .500 lift, in reality? Would that be safe to run without needing to mess with the retainers?
