My son got a good deal on some Welds, 15 X 8 with a 5.5 back space. Will this fit on a duster without minitubbing it and what is the biggest tire you can get in there with no minitub?? I have a set of 285 60 Mcrearys, wondering if anyone has done it. We sill end up minitubing it soon, and prob narrow the rear, i want to make it fit 10.5 W's eventually since they are so cheap as take offs on the Q8 cars

and run 2 pass side axles,
all of the A body 8 3/4 axles I have seen(1967 to 1971) and measured are the same length, stock or aftermarket race axles, what year axles are you talking about?
He's putting an 8.8 from a ford explorer in it, the dr side axle is 2 7/8" longer than the pass side axle and the center section is offset, if you run 2 pass side axles it narrows the rear 2 7/8" and moves the center section back to the center of the rearend. On the width I'm going by flange to flange not housing width.
I did the same swap in my car and it's a pretty decent rear for the price, I would have liked to put an 8.75 under it but it's not in my budget.

You won't need to cut the axle to fit a 10.5W. My old Duster had a stock width 8 3/4 with 10" rims and a 29x10.5W. It was mini tubbed with the springs moved in though.
do you know what was the backspacing on the 10 inch rim ADAM ?
Hey Ari, I believe it was 5.5" BS.

Ours is a 275/60 on a 10 inch wheel with 5.5 backspace. We do have the offset shackles that move the springs in 3/4 inch.
