Will a 833 transmission and shifter from a a body work in a 65 B body? Or is there something different? I dont know the year the a body was.

No, 64-5 B is a different animal from the A body. 66-9 B trans is the best fit and also uses the slip yoke.

The B body 4 speeds have a longer tailshaft than the A bodys do, if your a fabricator you can make anything fit and work. The A body shifter is mounted in a different location also so it would probally be better to get a B body tran and use it like already said. The 1965 B body 4 speed trans had the ball and trunion U joint and yoke like the 1963 and 1964 cars had, the 1965 automatic trans in the B bodys had slip yokes with conventional U joints from then on. The 1966 and later NP833 had slip yokes from then on also but the 1964 and 1965 NP833 are ball and trunion yoke and U joints drive shafts IHTHs
