You are spot on. I just used Franklin as a reference, but I was thinking of Titusville. Nice call

Trunk pics. Kinda neat how crude mopar built things for function and not for looks.

yes, would love to see more pictures.

What do you plan to do with it? i.e. full resto, etc...

I was kind of skeptical at first on the mileage until I saw the new for '70 steering column lock instructions still on the sun visor shock shock

(but still, it's not really in what I would think a 1000 mile car should look like, especially the trunk and the entire exterior in primer :()

It's present condition is not caused by putting miles on the car. it is caused by poor decisions and improper storage.

Agreed, I bought a never registered, never titled 15,000 mile 1971 W200 Power Wagon, poor choices in it's storage left it nothing but a rusted parts truck, yet the 1971 Sweptline that came in the deal with it, having 70,000 miles on it was in real nice shape, so 2 trucks to make one

on the trunk picture, why is the underside of the trunk lid brown? Both of my Roadrunners were body color

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I agree. Great find would have been worth a lot more if better care had been in the thought process. Years back I bought a triple black 64 Polara 500 convertible 383 4speed car with only 53k on it and parked in 1976. lt served as a parts car to mine as it was left outside and once the top failed the rest filled with water and leaves and went quickly. Same time the guy put a 1962 Polara 6 cylinder 4dr inside and that car remained very nice. He said his intensions were to get the 64 on the road quick as the oil pump went out. It sat there for over 25 plus years....

Fort Myers Florida is where the car has been since the 80s. Was purchased in Eau Claire PA at J.M. Beatty dodge/Plymouth dealership

I live minutes from Ft Myers and never heard about this car.Where in Ft Myers and what's the story?

Story is better than Fiction: Guy bought two cars from a dealership in Eau Claire, PA. 1 Hemi Bird, 1 440 6bbl Bird. Wrecked the Hemi in 1978ish. Sold the Car to the man I bought it from in 1978ish. Car has not been PA inspected since 1976. Guy I bought the car from drove it very little when a young man. Parked it in PA weather for 5 years then sent it to uncle in Fort Myers FLA. At this time nose cone is getting pretty bad. Trunk floor has some issues. Uncle was not a restoration expert and decided to spray bomb the car to "preserve" it. Whole car is brown rustolem primered. Found 4 rusted spray cans in trunk.

Everyone wants to know my plans for this car. I am not a big dollar car collector or a Know it all MOPAR guru. But I've heard about this car since I was young and got a chance to buy it.

So.... I plan to clean the points, put the starter back in, get the motor running. Get the brakes working. Then drive the car this summer in present condition.. Next winter, start a full restoration, which, to my surprise will not need to be extensive. I will be able to keep all sheet metal except trunk floor. Cant wait to see how it drives on the old suspension.

Can you remove the primer and save the original paint? I would look into that route. The original paint might be pretty good under that protective layer of primer.

The nose and wing were lacquer and went bad before rest of the enamel body paint.
