If you guys had to choose between Tubular Automotive and TTI 1-7/8 headers for a street car that ill take to the track every once in a while, what rout would ya go?
Used ceramic coated Tubular auto slip tube headers in really good shape, but Ill have to run adapters,
Bite the bullet and go with 1 7/8 TTI headers???
difference is around 480 bucks if I go the TTI way
Asking because Ive had bad luck in the past with adapters.
Also know nothing about the Tubular auto stuff. I did call the company and they are really cool and gave me good info, but I didn't ask him how his compare to TTI that's not a fair question to ask a guy abut a competitor.

Had a buddy who had the tubular auto 1 7/8 headers on a 408 in a 72 Demon. They didnt fit too bad. If its the ones i am thinking, one tube on the driver side slid out( slip fit)

I have ran Tubular Automotive headers for years, bought a used set, a new set years ago and am getting ready to buy a new set. I was thinking about the TTIs but heard fit isn't the greatest and they are just to expensive. With the Tubular Automotive headers I have plates for W2 heads and regular heads like an X or J head etc. Mine are 1 7/8 with a 3 1/2 collector

Hey guys, anybody note how high up the collectors are underneath on the TA ones. Is there good ground clearance.

Yes mine have the tabs to bolt the tubes together, mine are just plain worn out from being apart so many times for engine swaps etc.

B3442W5... I’m out of town right now so I can’t give you any measurements. I’ll be back the end of the week and will post then. Cool. Just want to be able to hook bullets up to them and keep them tight to the undercarriage.

Why no love for the 1 7/8 Hedmen headers? I think those are the headers you have to cut a hole in the fender well for the 7-8 tubes.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I can't do a comparison on the headers but I do know my stepped TTI Headers fit my car with no problems. Mine have the slip on pipe for for number 7 Cyl but I have never needed to take it off during standard engine and transmission services. They slide right in from the bottom and bolt right up. If and when my wear out I will get the exact same headers again. My 2cents

I have TTI 1 7/8 with W2s in an A body. They fit great, tight but great. They mention in the instructions that you need to jack the car up to install. What they do not mention is that you have to jack the car up really really really high lol.
