I ordered retainers the other day.. got them from summit(it was a drop shipment).. ordered 7* 1.500 with a step.. I checked them out today and see that they are 1.437 dia.. these are packaged as a 768-16 which says 1.500.. I think they have the wrong ones in the package.. gonna send them back.. but you know how shipping is during this time frame

If those are Comp retainers, then that is the number for a 1.430 to 1.460 spring with a 1.030 inner diameter, the one's that I found are 782-16 for 11/32 valve and 780-16 for a 3/8 valve, they are 1.500 od,,1.115 id and .690 inner id steps,,yeah shipping sucks this time of year.

The retainer doesn't have to be the same diameter as the spring, as long as the steps fit the springs properly.
My catalog shows a 768 as 1.400 OD, typically used with 1.437-1.500 springs.

I am running 11/32 valves guess it be if the inner diameter or diameters will fit then it would be the 780-16 set. don't know why but my catalog says 782 as 11/32 and 780 as 3/8 but summit says the opposite but they do have both in stock.
