Different years I think, 60's stuff I remember being goldish then going to plain chrome in the 70's.

My cars all have gold ones 1964 up to my 72 RR/GTX. Only change was metal to plastic. Silver ones I have seen were used on late eighties and 90's vehicles.... One reproduction silver pentastar notes that they were used specifically in Canada...

My AAR had the gold version and as you can see as a result of light sanding that it was once gold. The aluminum Pentastar came loose from the black plastic base and a pic of the backside verifies this.

So I cleaned mine as well and clearly can see the out side surface is a light yellow gold, perhaps brass in color. Interestingly the back surface appears to be bare aluminum.
So the "Authentic Restoration" ones look to dark gold The silver isn't correct Countless versions of ones with incorrect stars that appear more like straight black lines. Goodmark makes one that appears pretty good (just based on the photo)
Anyone with OCD tendencies manage to find ones they can back?? I can assure you ANYTHING Goodmark makes for our cars is INCORRECT!!! Ron
