I took my 12 year old baby Benz to the Texas Motorplex for some street car night runs with a few coworkers. This was my first passes on a track in at least 8 years and I've own this car less than 2 months.
I only managed to get three runs in due to the heavy crowds and a lengthy down time from a pair of Mustangs racing each other into the gravel trap.

The first run had the lengthy cool down. The second and third runs had the engine at normal run temps and 20+ mph wind gusts blowing from about the 2:00 position when on the track.
On each run I had the traction control off, the shifter in drive (with sport mode) and rolled the throttle in quickly but not too harshly.
The runs were:
60' . . 1.984 . . 2.024 . . 2.040
330 . . 5.603 . . 5.699 . . 5.728
1/8 . . 8.582 . . 8.695 . . 8.735
mph . . 81.73 . . 83.67 . . 83.30
1000. . 11.132. . 11.288. . 11.814
E.T.. . 13.288. . 13.448. . 13.512
mph . . 104.19. . 104.75. . 104.19
I don't think I was spinning the mismatched tires (bought it with a Pirelli PZero and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 out back). I couldn't feel them spin and there was no chance of hearing it. Looking at the short times I'm pretty sure the little 245/45-18s were hooking up.
What would be the most likely explanation for picking up 2 mph in the 1/9 mile but running the same mph in the 1/4?
In the end, I'll take those passes. They're right in line with what I expected out of the car.
