by the dist, look down along the top sloped bellhousing of the trans & if there is a circular "bump" all the way around the trans case down where the angle starts to turn back horizontle then it is a 904 or look at the pan & if it is a square with a corner cutout then it is a 904 (727 has a dogleg). On the rear, count the bolts on the center section & are they in front or rear. 7&1/4 has a bolt on rear cover with 9 or 10 bolts & it (the cover) looks like a mini Dana. iirc the 8&1/4 is an oval shaped bolt on.

Thanks Robert, I can tell the difference between a 904 and a727, If I could look at it, But it isn't near by..Just looking to buy one and wanted to know what it had before a hundred mile trip same with the rear , I just gotta look at it ..But thanks anyway !!

Off topic but I remember seeing later ('75? and up) B body Runners, Coronetes, and Furys. Was this a one year only thing? When did they go to the (M-body?) Volare style? I believe that line ended in '80.

'75 B body Roadrunner was 1 year only. Very possibly the ugliest RR ever. '76-80 were F bodies. Thanx. Although I kinda liked the 2 door '75 B bodies, better than the '73 or '74's.
