A rod decided it had enough and made an exit on my 340 Friday night at the races. Planning my next build and am looking seriously at a Bloomer Performance kit. Thinking if the block can be saved, a 422 would be nice. What rpms are you turning these? I have a set of W2’s (open chamber, race) that will get sent out for porting provided they are okay as well. They can be opened up quite a bit as they are not too far away from stock size ports now (has mild port work). Any suggestions or experiences? Thanks and I’ll definitely have more questions.
Better get inside Ma. Looks like a storm's comin'.

When I had a small 520 lift cam in my 408 I shifted at 6400 and ran low 10's. When I put the roller cam in it and my better set of Edelbrock heads I shifted at 6700 and ran 9.60's. When I built my 422 with a solid lift cam and ported 360-1 heads I've gone some high 9.40's shifting at 7000 rpm. Over the Winter I hope to upgrade to a roller cam and possibly a few more cubic inches

Brett Miller would be the guy to talk to, not Ryan!!!!!! Ryan is more than capable on any Mopar smallblock heads. Its what he does full time for a living. And has for a long time Made my W5's fly, and a local guy who does very good work was extremely impressed by the work Ryan did on my brothers eddie heads after carefully looking them over. Not sure where you get off bashing Ryan, Probably not a better resource in the country.

Maybe I need to spin my 416 a little higher since I only shift at 5900 and usually it goes to 6300 through the traps!
416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out. 11.06 open headers----so far!!

Can I please get experiences or advice on a 4.125” in a 340 factory block? Been reading a little on the oiling and cooling mods. I realize an R3 would be the way to go, just trying to utilize what I already have. Thanks again.
