I am going to use a Autometer mechanical (analog) water temp gauge.
There is a fitting and metal LINE that are supposed to run from the passenger side of the water pump into the interior and then to the gauge

1) What size fitting is required ( any links )
2) Where can I find this "line" that runs from the pump into the interior ? ( i have looked, searched on line, etc,,,but not having much luck )...I have this set up on the race car,,,( was already on the car when purchased ),,looks like a flexible spring like line,,,with the end that goes into the water pump having a dumbbell shaped fitting that seats into the water pump fitting ) ( trying to describe this as best as possible ),,, shruggy

Thanks !!!
Doug

The tube running from the gauge to the WP comes with and is attached to the gauge on the Auto Meter gauges that I have used.

the needed "tube" on mechanical water temperature gages are always attached to the gage. the "tube" is filled with a substance that expands and contracts with the temperature fluctuation. if that tube is cut, or removed from the gage somehow, that gage is now non-operational. they can be repaired, but with a commonly available aftermarket gage, it usually costs more to repair them than it does for the gage set.

It usually requires a hardware store bushing for the water pump.

You can't remove it from the gauge.

make sure, however, the bulb is in the water flow path for an accurate reading. you may have to drill and tap the sender location to a bigger NPT size to accomplish this. plus, it will look much better than 23 adapter fittings screwed together.
