Hello,
My '71 Cuda has the hood pin option.I have the proper plastic coated factory type cables. But they scuff the paint when I drive over 50 mph. Besides removing them what would be a good fix.
Thanks Kurt

The plastic coating is still on the lanyards ?? I raise the hood pins so the clips and lanyards aren't so close to the stainless hood pads then twist the lanyard{before installing in the pin} so there's a little tension on them...This makes them lay flat close to the header and they don't flap at highway speed...

I always tuck them inside rad support for driving. Then pull them out for shows etc. I know this is not how there intended to be used but did not want to deal with what you describe.

Route the cables a different way to take up the slack.

I twist them so they stand up and off the hood up through normal freeway speeds, but as the car approaches 125 mph they do start to flatten out on the header panel. At 150+ mph they are squashed down pretty hard, so I try to keep it under 100 mph.
