My Dana currently has a yoke w/ 2 bolts and a metal strap that retains the 1350 u-joint. A buddy gave me a Moser yoke that has 2 u-bolts....Any sig. difference between the 2 strength wise? Performance wise? Thanks

Take care,
Rick

The through U bolts are preferred I do believe...

Not trying to sway you in either direction but you
have to look at a couple of things. The heaviest load
carrying rear end is a big dana in trucks.... what do
they use... the straps and bolts. Also look at the design
of a yoke... the U-joint cup sets in OVER 1/2 way so
the load is applied to the yoke.... not the strap.
I've been running a strap type for 11 years on my car
(same ones and the same bolts). The strap is there
for 1 thing only... thats to hold the drive shaft/
U-joint from sliding forward

I've never had any issues with the straps......

Thanks sounds like I can do nothing and be ok. Maybe even sell the unneeded Moser one!

If the one your buddy gave you is a billet yoke and
you have a cast yoke, I'd change it, the billet is
stronger than the cast... but thats the only reason

It's a PY500 which is listed on Mosers site as forged rather than cast...No mention of billet except for the alum ones. The one installed is what came on a Strange built axle.
